The Visomat comfort form upper arm blood pressure monitor is intended for the non-invasive measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, for determining pulse rate, and for calculating pulse pressure in individuals aged 12 and over. The device uses the oscillometric method to measure blood pressure and pulse. The cuff is connected to the device and placed on the upper arm. A sensor measures the small pressure oscillations generated by the dilation and contraction of the arteries with each heartbeat. The amplitude of the pressure waves is measured, converted into millimeters of mercury (mmHg), and displayed on the screen as a numerical value.
