Cutimed Gelling Fiber 5 x 5 cm (10 pieces)

Sterile, hydrophilic, non-woven gelling fiber dressing, composed of sodium carboxymethylcellulose and reinforced fibers. It is soft and highly absorbent, designed for effective exudate management. Upon contact with fluid, it forms a gel that maintains a moist environment.

Application:

• Choose the appropriate size and cut if necessary. The dressing should overlap the wound edges by approximately 1 cm, as it shrinks when absorbing exudate.
• Apply directly to the wound and cover with a secondary moisture-retentive dressing.
• For dry wounds, moisten the area with saline solution before application and cover with a suitable dressing.
• For deep wounds and cavities, use the ribbon (packing) and leave a small amount (2-3 cm) extending out to facilitate removal.
• For second-degree burns and skin graft donor sites, the dressing should be covered with a sterile gauze and secured. More frequent changes may be required in the post-burn period (up to 4 days).
• Inspect the wound regularly. Remove the dressing if necessary (excessive bleeding, leakage, suspected infection).

After re-epithelialization, the dressing will detach on its own or can be easily removed.
