NatuGena® vitamin B12 capsules contain a combination of three bioactive vitamin B12 compounds: methylcobalamin, hydroxycobalamin, and adenosylcobalamin. These forms are also present in human metabolism and differ in their chemical structure as well as their areas of utilization in the body.
- Methylcobalamin is a methylated form of vitamin B12, directly available in the body.
- Adenosylcobalamin is a coenzyme form of vitamin B12, primarily found in the mitochondria.
- Hydroxycobalamin is a natural form that can be converted in the body into other active forms of vitamin B12.
The formula is complemented by folic acid in the form of L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). This is the bioactive form of vitamin B9, which can be used by the body without additional conversion steps.
Vitamin B12 and folate are often called "cellular vitamins" because they both play a role in cell division. In addition, vitamin B12 contributes to normal red blood cell formation, while folate contributes to normal blood formation.
The new NatuGena vitamin B12 formulation is available in capsules and is further enriched with lecithin. For a targeted intake, consuming a single capsule per day is sufficient.
